Privacy Policy
Effective date: 21 October 2026. Applies to championselite.net, the Champions Elite Academy Portal at app.championselite.net, and the Champions Elite app for iOS (together, the “Services”).
1. Who we are
The Services are operated by Champions Elite, a taekwondo academy founded by Dr. Habib Zarifeh, based at Mont La Salle, Ain Saadeh, Lebanon, with a branch in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (“we”, “us”, the “Academy”). We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Contact: info@championselite.net.
2. What we collect
Website visitors. The public website does not require an account. Our hosting provider, WordPress.com (Automattic Inc.), records standard server logs such as IP address, browser type and pages visited in order to operate and secure the site.
Academy Portal and app users. Accounts are created or approved by the Academy. To run the academy we process:
- Account data — name, email address or username, password (stored in hashed form), the school or branch you belong to, and your role (athlete, parent/guardian, trainer, staff).
- Athlete profile data — belt grade, age division, competition category, weight class, and an optional profile photo. Date of birth or age is used to place the athlete in the correct age division under World Taekwondo and Lebanese Taekwondo Federation rules.
- Attendance and progression — sessions attended, belt tests and results, which determine eligibility for promotion and competition entries.
- Store requests — items, sizes and the trainer chosen for collection. No payment card data is collected in the app; payment features are not yet active.
- Technical data — device type, app version, sign-in times and error logs needed to keep the Services secure and working.
We do not collect precise location, contacts, health records or payment card numbers through the Services. A medical consultation requested through the portal is arranged by WhatsApp message with the Academy’s coordinator; anything you share there is governed by WhatsApp’s own privacy policy and by the treating doctor’s professional confidentiality, not stored in the app.
3. Why we use it
- To run training, belt promotions and competition entries in conformity with Kukkiwon, World Taekwondo and Lebanese Taekwondo Federation regulations.
- To publish the academy calendar and let you add events to your own device calendar.
- To prepare equipment orders for collection from your trainer.
- To secure accounts, prevent misuse and fix errors.
- To answer your requests and send essential service messages. We do not send marketing messages through the app and we do not sell personal data.
4. Children
Most of our athletes are under 18. An athlete under 18 is registered by, or with the written consent of, a parent or legal guardian at enrolment, and that parent or guardian may access, correct or delete the athlete’s data at any time. We collect only the data needed to train the athlete and enter them in competition. Profile photos are optional and are visible only to accounts the Academy has authorised to view that profile.
5. Who can see your data
- Academy staff and trainers see the athletes in the school or branch they are responsible for.
- Parents or guardians see the profiles of the athletes they registered.
- Service providers that host and run the Services on our behalf: Cloudflare, Inc. (application hosting and security) and Automattic Inc. / WordPress.com (website hosting). They process data only on our instructions.
- Sports authorities. When an athlete is entered in a federation championship or a belt examination, the data required for that entry (name, date of birth, belt, weight class, club) is shared with the Lebanese Taekwondo Federation, and where applicable with World Taekwondo, Kukkiwon or the organising body.
- Legal requirements, if we are required by law or a court order to disclose data.
6. Retention
Account and athlete data are kept while the athlete is enrolled and for up to 24 months after the last activity, so that belt history and competition records remain available if the athlete returns. Belt-certification records that the federation or Kukkiwon require us to keep may be retained longer. Server logs are kept for up to 90 days.
7. Your rights and account deletion
You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, or your child’s, and to close an account. Deleting an account removes the profile, photo and store requests; attendance and belt-certification records required by the federation are anonymised rather than deleted. Email info@championselite.net from the address on the account, or use the account-deletion option in the app. We respond within 30 days.
8. Security and transfers
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored with our hosting providers, whose data centres may be located outside Lebanon and the UAE, including in the European Union and the United States. We restrict access to staff who need it and review access regularly.
9. Changes and contact
We will post any change to this policy on this page with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify account holders in the app. Questions: info@championselite.net, or write to Champions Elite, Mont La Salle, Ain Saadeh, Metn, Lebanon.
